STOP THAT MASTURBATION

We pass through different stages while growing up. Sometimes, as we advance in age,

we find ourselves trying to let go of certain bad habits we may have developed in our early stages because we now realize how harmful the habits are to us. One of such habit is the habit of masturbation.

Masturbation is simply the act of giving yourself sexual pleasure by touching or rubbing your sexual organ. In normal parlance, guys call it ‘wanking off’ or ‘jerking off’. Due to the ‘pleasure’ some people derive from engaging in this act, it becomes addictive and very difficult to stop on your own without help.

The world as it were, has different people with varied backgrounds and justifications as to why they engage in this. There are even some who justify this act. I am not gonna stand as a judge to tell you to stop or to continue but I am only gonna say that more often than not, the aftermath of masturbation is “LOW SELF ESTEEM”.

I decided to take out time to write this post to help those who are struggling with this habit and have made up their minds to stop.
I met a lady 3 years ago and after the 1st year of our friendship, she confided in me about her masturbation problem. That very day, I saw a lady who was beautiful in every sense of the word on the outside but was gradually losing her mind on the inside and needed help terribly. I went researching and gave her some tips that helped her.
Today, that habit is behind her. Join me as I share these tips with you. Please take note that these tips would only work for those WHO HAVE MADE UP THEIR MINDS TO STOP. It could also work for those hoping to stop other bad habits apart from masturbation.

TIP 1
Confide in a close friend or family member, a trusted one, one who would not judge you but can help you through this pain you are feeling.

TIP 2
Masturbation is often enhanced by thoughts and these thoughts are triggered by movies, pictures, environment or even friends that remind us of sexual pleasure so you make sure to cut yourself from all such that remind you of what you are trying to fight. Your close friend/ family supervises to make sure you remove them all.

TIP 3
Make a table and paste it on a very visible part of your room, a place everyone can see without stress so that it is always in your face. The rows of the table contain dates and days of the week and the columns contain acts you are trying to give up as shown below

DAYS/DATES
HABITS

MON    (09/05/16)

TUES     (10/05/16)

WED     (11/05/16)

THURS  (12/05/16)

FRI         (13/05/16)

SAT        (14/05/16)

SUN       (15/05/16)

TIP 4
Due to the fact that this chart is gonna be hung or pasted on a place that is  visible to everyone, including you, you should represent the habits by mere alphabets or code  that only you and your friend know. This is so as to reduce the unnecessary questions from prying friends; at best when they ask, you could say the alphabets mean something else entirely.

TIP 5
At the end of each day, alongside this friend, you tick your chart. If you performed M 4 times that day, you indicate, same applies for others.

TIP 6
While your friend chastises you for falling into temptation and while you even chastise yourself, you should also encourage yourself to be better. Do not dwell so much on the fact that you fell but instead dwell on the fact that you are finding a way out. It is always rocky initially. Also, support from this friend would surely keep you going. Please ensure to always fill up this table HONESTLY.

TIP 7
At the end of the week and end of the month you keep assessing your progress level. There is bound to be a form of progress.

TIP 8
Always talk to God about it, prayer is never too much my friends.

If all these tips still do not help in your case, please review them again to check if you followed them. If that doesn’t still work, please seek professional counselling. Thank you.
