BEACH OF REDNESS

Hey guys, so while carrying out my research today, I came across this really unique work of mother nature.

As we all know, a beach is often characterized by the white beautiful sand but check this out, in the ‘Red Sea Beach’ in Panjin in China, there is no sand at all, and what is more fascinating is the fact that the surface colour of the entire beach is red, yeah you read that right, as red as the colour of blood. This beach is located in the biggest wetland in the world.

To satisfy my curiousity, I dug deeper into this mystery of nature and I found that the sea is actually covered by a sea weed called ‘sueda’. This weed covers the entire expanse of the sea such that if you do not look closely, it could pass for a layer of red carpet resting across the sea.

Oh it gets even more interesting, the unique thing about this sea weed is its camouflage nature, I am talking about a plant that is sensitive to the seasons  in a year as it grows and it shows this sensitivity in its colours. The Sueda sea weed starts growing in the months of April and May, stays green during summer and then turns blood red in autumn.

The view is a beauty to behold and the Chinese Government has taken out time to ensure it meets world class standard for tourists to come see the beauty. Perhaps you can add this to your bucket list of places to visit while on earth.
