ETTIQUETTES OF ALL TIMES

Etiquette is defined as the formal rules for polite behavior in a society or in a particular group.

As we round up on the weekend which also happens to be my birthday, we take a look at common etiquettes that every human should be made aware of
  •    Do not talk with food in your mouth.

  •   Keep elbows off the table while eating

  •       Please chew with your mouth closed while ensuring not to make noise as you are at it. Your mouth is not a grinding machine.

  •               If you are invited to an outing, please ensure you go alone as your host may not have made preparations for more than 1 person.

  • Don’t say, “I am having a party, please come but bring your own food and drinks.” That is not a party.

  •             Make sure your headphone is plugged in before playing any music in public.

  •     Don’t ever break up with someone or announce the death of a loved one  via text message.

  • When visiting an older person, you DO NOT sit on a chair unless you have offered one. If it happens that the person is not in the room at the time you walk in, you may sit down but the minute the person walks in you must stand up and wait to be offered a seat before sitting

  •     While on a date, its gentlemanly to help the lady pull out her seat and help her sit comfortably before taking your sit.

  •  Answering a call in public like on a bus or a train and shouting at the top of your voice is  somewhat rude and annoying.

  •       Poking your nose in public is a very dirty habit.

  •  Don’t promise to come visit and not show up because all the efforts put into preparing for your visit goes down the drain.

  •       Return calls missed.

  •              Reply messages read.

  •  A British etiquette has it that while on a date, you do not order something more expensive than what your host is having. Well here in Nigeria,  people may not see the need to obey this rule but there is surely a need to apply moderation in this case.
Do endeavour to share the posts with friends, do not learn alone.
